That wasn’t goodbye, was it?

I mean, I know I said “Goodbye,” but that’s what I always say when you leave.  And then you’re there again in a matter of days.  This time who knows how long it will be.  Hopefully only a few months.  It hasn’t really sunken in yet that you’re gone.  And yes, I will talk to you before winter, but not in person.

Just promise you won’t forget about me?

Our last hug lasted 20 minutes.  And I thought that was enough.  But it wasn’t.  I was joking when I said “Take me with you,” but now I mean it.  Don’t let go.
